toth_emoke

My name is Tóth Emőke, I am 17 years old, I am a student of the Baczkamadarasi Kis Gergely Reformed High School with Mathematics and Computer Science specialization. I live in Târnovița with my mother and my brother, Attila.

Q: So you quite often have a graph notebook in your hands...

Tóth Emőke: Yes, but I like it very much, I chose this specialization at the end of eight grade because Mathematics is the subject which is close to my heart, I like the best and I always understood it. Besides I found Computer Science interesting as well, and my opinion hasn’t changed about any of the two, these are still my favourite subjects.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

Tóth Emőke: I like to spend my free time with basketball, painting, I like music very much, I have rehearsal every week with the school choir. In addition I like walking, being in the nature, I have a dog, 6 years old, I like to be with it in the garden, because I can totally relax then.

Q: Have you taken part in any voluntary activity? How was it? What did you learn?

Tóth Emőke: Last time I took part in voluntary activity was last June, we organised Children’s Day in Izvoare for the second graders and the other children. It was a very good feeling, they were very happy, it gave me a lot of good energy, in other words, the fact that we made them joyful made us contented.

Q: Do you have any future plans about your education?

Tóth Emőke: I would like to study architecture in Cluj-Napoca, because I am very interested in designing buildings, I like drawing, and I think some Math is needed as well, so I consider myself capable of doing it.

Q: How do you picture yourself in 10-15 years? What would like to achieve by then?

Tóth Emőke: I will definitely be here, because I stick to my family, my fatherland. I would like to have a family, this is the most important. Besides I would like to be successful in what I will be doing.

Q: What does the foundation’s help mean to you?

Tóth Emőke: This help means a lot to me; especially it encourages me to struggle better for good grades, to never give up my dreams, but to fight, because that’s how I am going to make them come true. I and the other students express our gratitude for the foundation’s help with good grades, hard work, and we all hope, that won’t cause disappointment.

My name is Joó Nándor, I am from Bădeni, I study in the Baczkamadarasi Kis Gergely Reformed High School at Mathematics and Computer Science specialization, I am in 11th grade. During the school I live in a student residence.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

Joó Nándor: In the weekends, when I am at home, I help my parents. I am interested in archery, at home I practice target shooting, and I like riding bicycle with my friends. During the week, when I am in the student residence, I don’t really have free time; I have English classes because in June I would like to take an English intermediate language exam. I am also interested in Computer programming, but I don’t do it very often.

Q: You also take part in voluntary activities...

Joó Nándor: Yes, I took part two times in organising the „Holiday Bible Week”. Our task was to present smaller plays for children and to help coordinating the games. It was good because we learnt how to work in team, and to listen to each other.

Q: Which are the things you would like to try in the future if you had the opportunity?

Joó Nándor: If I had the opportunity I would like to go abroad in order to gain experience and to try out life (work opportunities and modern machines), but I wouldn’t like to stay for long. I would like go for a long route, with my family or with 1-2 friends, it doesn’t matter, important is to go with our own car, and just us.

Q: You mentioned that you live in the country side. Could you image going home and taking over your parents’ farm after graduation? Do you consider remaining at your fatherland important?

Joó Nándor: I could imagine, and what is more, I have already thought of it. If I can manage to go abroad for a while, and find a job there, I would like to use the experience at home. I am not sure if in the farm, but I would like to find a job here on long term.

Q: You have one year before the final exam. Have you thought of continuing your education?

Joó Nándor: Yes, I would like to continue my education, but I am not sure where. I am thinking of Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering. Mechanical Engineering seems more interesting to me, because I really like trying out and study machines, especially the ones used in agriculture,

Q: How does the foundation’s help contribute to your life?

Joó Nándor: For me it is important, because I know it is a great help for my parents considering my education. The foundation’s work inspires me and teaches me to help other people as far as possible. I would like to thank the foundation for its help.

My mother is Kedves Katalin, my sister is Kedves Emőke. She is studying at the Babeș Bolyai University at Odorheiu Secuiesc. I am studying in the Salamon Ernő High School in Gheorgheni at Humanities specialization, I am in 11th grade.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

Kedves Botond: I like listening to music, motorcycling, and being in the nature. I help my parents in the house work. I like sports and the dance classes with my classmates after courses. We learn more types of dances: English Waltz, Viennese waltz, jazz, salsa and csárdás (Hungarian folk dance). Besides I try to take part in voluntary activities, I often help organising different events, programs in the school, I help everybody I can.

Q: You have one year left until the final exam, what do you plan after?

Kedves Botond: I have many plans, but there are a few things I would like to carry out before the final exam.

Q: And these are?

Kedves Botond: The first of this is to finish the ECDL course, I have only one exam left, and if I will have time, I would like do the driver’s licence before graduation. Then I would like to graduate successfully and go to university. I would definitely like to continue my education.

Q: And at university, something related to humanities?

Kedves Botond: I don’t really know the opportunities yet, so I can’t really tell, but I would like something related to engineering. I might be hard for me, because at the moment I learn only few science subjects, but I think I could be very good doing this. Since my father serviced car in the past, I was already introduced to car fixing as a child, so I am mostly interested in Mechanical Engineering.

Q: What other plans do you have?

Kedves Botond: After finishing my higher education, I would like to start working, to become a useful member of the Szekler community. I would like to stay at Sândominic, to have a family, but before it I would like to try my luck, to make some money in order to be able to provide my family everything needed for a balanced life.

Q: How does the foundation contribute to all this?

Kedves Botond: The foundation’s help contributes to finishing my studies, and takes a stone off my parents’ shoulder. Without their help I couldn’t live in a student residence, which would come at the expense of my grades. The scholarship encourages me that it is worth studying, I can tell that it inspires me, and it made me realise that my work has got result. We can never thank the foundation the help, because besides mine they make many students’ life easier and help them on the way towards their goals...
