Ádám Szidónia graduated for high school in 2009 in Gheorgheni. After the finals she started working in order to earn the daily bread: she had two jobs simultaneously. She says that she feels the best at home, and one can stand one’s ground here as well. “It’s not easy, but it is possible” – she adds.

Ádám Szidónia: I worked three years in hospitality, and in 2012 I decided that I could do more. At the moment I am living in Cluj-Napoca, and I am studying social work at Babeș-Bolyai University. Why do I study here? Because I feel like I can accomplish myself in this field, in my life I gained competences which can be used in social work.

Q: Do you have time for your hobbies?

Ádám Szidónia: Not much, but I still have some. I love the theatre, if I can I go. I feel very well there. In the everyday rush the theatre refills me with energy.

Q: Have you already take part in voluntary activities?

Ádám Szidónia: I am a volunteer at the Christian Foundation Diakónia: I help elementary students in their homework, and we play together in our spare time.

Q: How do you see the youngsters’ future?

Ádám Szidónia: It is an interesting question. I don’t really know... What I noticed is that not all the youngsters have the same opportunities in life. Unfortunately.

Q: Do you consider standing your ground at your fatherland?

Ádám Szidónia: Yes, I consider it important. One can’t just simply leave his fatherland; we have to work for our happiness. According to the saying: Everywhere is good but home is the best. This is the place where I feel good; this is the place where I feel the most at home. You can also stand your ground here as well. It’s not easy, but it is possible.

Q: What is your message for youngsters ahead of choice of career?

Ádám Szidónia: My message is the following: do not hurry, first try out what you really like. The most important is to have self-confidence, to fight for your dreams!

Q: What does the foundation’s help mean to you?

Ádám Szidónia: It means a lot. I always worked for the things I had, I have never really received any help. Now I know what it feels like to have some help, if you have a stable point in your life. During the exams I didn’t need to think about what to eat, I could study, I could go to voluntary activities. I could do what I liked and wanted. Thanks the foundation for its trust. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to study.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

Lukács Orsolya: As a graduate I have very little free time but I still do Pilates exercises because I would like to progress as much as possible in it because I would like to become a trainer in the future. Besides I make some time for “art”, I make jewelleries and accessories out of plasticine.

Q: How did you find Pilates? How are these types of exercises special?

Lukács Orsolya: I took up Pilates 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with scoliosis. An acquaintance of mine suggested me to try it out which had wonderful results in just a few months. After that I started to take improving in it very seriously. Nowadays it became a way of living and a goal for me as I would also like to help others with it.

Q: Besides you also take part in voluntary activities…

Lukács Orsolya: The voluntary activities became very important to me because thanks to it I got to know many people and I could help those in need. I did voluntary work in some Caritas events then I helped in a kindergarten in the afternoons. I felt it very close to me, I mean taking care of children. Last summer I took part in a voluntary training thanks to the Caritas where I learnt many important things that can be used in my further voluntary work.

Q: Continuing your studies…

Lukács Orsolya: I would like to study physiotherapy at Oradea. I think that the need for professionals in this field is becoming greater and greater and I also think that I have the skills for it. I think this is the way I could help the people the most.

Q: What does the foundation’s help mean to you?

Lukács Orsolya: The foundation’s help means a lot to me, it helps me to improve myself in the activities that I like a lot. I would like to use this opportunity to thank them for their work and support!

Hadnagy Izabella was born in OdorheiuSecuiesc on 25 January 1992. She studied in TamásiÁron Elementary and Secondary School in Lupeni and she graduated from TamásiÁron High School in Philology. At present she is studying Regional Development at the Faculty of Geography, Babeș-Bolyai University.

- Beside the university I don’t have much time to do any other activities because I also have classes in the afternoon, sometimes even until 8 o'clock. As a graduate I have very little time so whenever I can I read or go to the theatre- Izabella says. She says that she hasn't had the opportunity to carry out voluntary work yet, but she is planning to work for the Tamási Áron Cultural Association of Lupeni where she has the opportunity to be an active member when it comes to organising various events, contributing thus to the success of the local cultural life.

I study Regional Development at the Faculty of Geography, Babeș-Bolyai University. Regional Development deals with cities, villages and regions. It analyses the demographic, economic and environmental problems of a region, a development. It involves everything from urbanism to the building of wind farms.I heard about this profession in 12th grade.I was a bit doubtful as it is a new profession, but I take off into the unknown and I wasn't disappointed.

When I finish the Bachelor’s I would like to enrol to Master’s at the Faculty of Geography. For the time being I am interested in GIS- geographic information system – Izabella says. She things that the youngsters’ future is changing, many of her acquaintances thinks that trying their luck abroadwould make their situation better than those who stay at home.

I think that people who do not leave their fatherland, who try to make their way in life, who plan their future hereno matter how hard it is can contribute to the progress of our environment, of our fatherland.

Izabella received the scholarship in 12th grade and in 1st year at university, which was a great help to her.

- This scholarship was a big help for me, it made me possible to cover the expenses of the mandatory fieldtrips.Besides I could sustain myself, I became a bit more independent.I am very grateful to the dr. Verestóy Attila Foundation for having supported me for three years, it meant enormously much for me and my family. Without this support everything had had been harder.

Izabella's message for the youngsters in search of a career:

Choose bravely and proudly the most suitable profession for yourself in order to carry it out with happiness and pleasure.
